Sam and George Matthews grew up eating! They came to New Jersey in hopes of new opportunities and a chance to continue in the family business. The boys had grown up with a strong role model—their father Louis—who has been in the restaurant business for many years, and passed on many tips, tricks, and recipes that you can taste quality in all of our famous Hibernia Jersey style Cheese Cakes, Although Louis  is no longer around to create new recipes, his spirit lives on through the passion and atmosphere of Hibernia.

For twenty years, our diner location in Hibernia has grown and thrived. We are thrilled to see our dreams grow alongside our customer base and their growing families!

Immigrating to the U.S. was something that we always knew was a challenge, but this community has welcomed us and helped us on our way to success. We want to thank our loyal customers and welcome our new visitors!
